LOOK AT THIS CUTE HISPTER DARLING!!This costume is hideous. What are you TALKING about it’s WONDERFULI didn’t say it wasn’t wonderful. I said it was hideous. So glad we’re done with the “perfectly normal clothes with one incongruous detail” era of Doctor costuming and back to straight-up bonkers. As a fan of the Doctor that wore THIS outfit……this may get me to finally catch up on the show.I am amused while also faintly horrified since I LIVED through the 70s and my Mom had an avocado green car and our fridge was ugh brown and our rotary phone was mustard yellow. Also while everyone else is saying Mork from Ork I’m thinking of Steven Taylor.(Although the stripes are actually the cover of Four’s original scarf)But yes. Apart from perhaps Pertwee, all the Doctors I grew up had fashion sense ranging from boho to decorative vegetable to downright eye-gouging, so I thoroughly approve of the Doctor reverting to slightly strange fashion even while a part of my brain is screaming AH NO THE SEVENTIES HALPBesides which, I have no fashion sense whatsoever, having grown up in the age of bellbottoms and avocado green, so what the hell do I know?I am more interested inshe has sensible shoes (yay!)high waisted late 20th century jeans means she may have sensible pockets as well?Long coat. Good. Don’t want to fall into a rut, but I love long coats.TARDIS with a slightly more classic finish and darker Pull to Open sign pleases me. (Even if yes, it appears to have been remodeled from the TARDIS on the cover of the old Peter Haining 25 years celebration book.)IS JODIE LEFT HANDED WHY DID THEY MOVE THE PHONE CUBBYHOLE DOOR HANDLE TO THE LEFT?Oh, and fellow Americans, you might want to Google “British suspenders” vs “British braces” to avoid one of those amusing cases of words meaning something slightly different Across the Water. ;). -- source link
