30 days ago my cat Mimi crossed the rainbow bridge. I want to share some pictures and tell you a little about this amazing creature that was the joy of my life. When he was a four month old stray he followed my dad home. Not being cat people we weren’t sure we wanted him, so we let him stay in the yard and left him milk. We had a swing sofa on the back porch with a tarp over it and he made it his tent. Every morning I opened the screen door he would jump out for food and attention. I started to worry I’d find him gone. Some days later I was having lunch and he climbed up the screen door separating us. When he got to the top he spread eagled himself and starred at me like a Garfield window cling. I had to let him in. He lived it up on fresh tuna, scallops, shrimp and Temptations/Friskies treats and grew up to be a big boy with the silkiest fur and wettest nose. He had big paws with big toes as soft as a kitten’s. He was loved every day for 16 years and gave me so much worries. I lost him 1 month ago to kidney disease. On his last morning he woke up next to me and put his paw on the back of my hand and smiled, as if to say “thank you and goodbye”. He was my soulmate. His very last scratch scar has almost disappeared from my arm. I miss him terribly. It’s been a long day without you my friend. Mimi (April 2004 - Sept 10, 2020) -- source link
