Bosses putting signs around the facility saying “thank you, heroes” and “all that you do is amazing” and, okay, appreciation is good. But how much of this is really just about trying to give us those warm fuzzies so we don’t quit? it’s a convenient pivot too for when this is contained and doctors/nurses start demanding benefits and better protections - see, a REAL hero doesn’t ask for a “reward” (nevermind that its shit they should’ve had the whole time). when medical staff protest, guarantee the first step taken against them will be claiming these manipulative, greedy people were only posing as heroes for personal gain. -- source link
