f0rgemaster:dontjudgemeimscared:f0rgemaster:dontjudgemeimscared:flavoracle:commandertheory:Wow, this is a much better Ally Commander than Munda!I really hope we get to see more and more legendary creatures like this in the future. I love it when the cost of activated abilities expands the color identity of a commander.Though this limits its effectiveness in commander, since you either can’t use the activated abilities or use them as a commander. Why not? @dontjudgemeimscaredOne of the most annoying rules of commander (to me atleast) is that you can ONLY cast and draw mana that shares a color identity with your commander. You physically aren’t allowed to have say Doom Blade in a Krenko deck, and depending on interprettion you either straight up can’t put in a swamp or similar card or they just essentially become wastes. So unless that rule was changed for Tasigur and the like you simply can’t use her activated abbilities. The new rule for commander is that any color on the card (including activated abilities) counts as their color identity. So, for example, since this card has all 5 colors on an activated ability she has, her color identity is all of those colors, so she’s a good ally commanderReblogging because I’ve seen a few people today confused on this point. To be clear, @f0rgemaster is correct. A commander’s “color identity” includes any mana symbol that appears on the commander’s card, not just their casting cost. -- source link
