mileynetwork:10 YEARS OF CAN’T BE TAMED 10 years ago today, Miley Cyrus released her third studio album ‘Can’t Be Tamed.’ The album debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 with 102,000 copies sold in its first week. The controversial album saw the then-teenage singer explore more mature territory sonically and in the headlines. Acording to Miley on the message of the album, ‘‘I think ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ does it best, and ‘Liberty Walk’ - It’s just about freeing yourself from anything that is holding you back, and I think that’s really important, especially for girls, because so many people are told ‘No, you can’t do something’ or ‘You need to be this, because mom and dad say that, teachers say this’ It’s like - really think about what you want to do for the rest of your life. You know, we got a short amount of time, when you think about it and no day needs to go by wasted.’’Miley was the first Disney girl to openly support the LGBTQ+ community still inside Disney and she wrote multiple songs for the community during this time, including ‘My Heart Beats for Love’ and ‘Liberty Walk’. She performed for he first time in 2010 in a Gay Club in London and because of this and the way she was behaving throughout this era, the channel boycotted her and didn’t let any radios play her songs from ‘‘Can’t Be Tamed’‘. Her whole tour was also not supported by Disney and she paid it all herself. -- source link
