CLOVERSTRAVAGANZACrimson clover is a beautiful winter-season annual for the beds. The whites - Dutch, Patriot, and Durana - are perennial. The Dutch needs more water to be happy than the others, and in general is more fragile but it’s wonderfully low growing. The Patriot and Durana are both tough and will put out runners, so they’ll be great in all the areas where we’re having erosion issues (we’re on the side of a mountain, there’s LOTS of erosion to deal with, especially as we take out the grass bit by bit). The Redland I believe is a friendly biennial that should reseed itself. It has a lot of disease resistance. We need stuff for the beds, for the paths that we’ll stomp on and haul equipment through, and for the areas that will eventually be garden but are currently a grassy weed mess mixture.Hopefully whoever put out the many bee hives across the river from us this past year will do the same the upcoming season (and for many seasons to come - until we get our own!). The seeds arrived very quickly, but I can’t say much for the packaging, that’s why I didn’t actually open up the other sacks in the photo, it’s really the only thing holding them back from a massive mess on our floor. Also 30 lbs / 13.6 K of seed is pretty heavy! -- source link
