The following posts will deal with the topic of mental health issues and the potential use of psychoactive substances for medical purposes. If you’re one of those who think they have a knowing of the topic but are neither affected by this topic nor know someone who is, be sure: It’s not true. Mental health issues affect more than a quarter of the adult population and at the bottom line: you.Keeping the consequences of mental illness illegal and/or therefor out of a public discussion (e.g. addiction, burnout or depression) leads to more harm than good (for the individual, the society and the economy). It also doesn’t matter if you think drugs are good or bad (for you) – but what matters is if you think that other people could potentially take advantage of it.Social problems were and will never be solved by full liberations (e.g. gun control) or by a full criminalization (e.g. Philippines’ drug policy). People tend to be different. What we need are flexible standards to meet the needs. Sometimes we need to make compromises. We need #tolerance Because we all want different things out of life. And one of those topics fueling indifference and diminishing livability (again: not for everybody!) is the context of addiction* and mental health issues. By trying to bring light to this twilight zone I made what appears in my CV as Master of Arts. A glimps on what was made will be subject of the following posts.
