Time for a random fun fact. So this is from a lesser known but not wholly obscure offering from 1990 called the Disney Character Hit Parade… and it’s exactly what it sounds like. Famous characters from Disney’s greatest hits. And they’re in reused floats! I’m sure you’ll recognize quite a few in the linked video. And this one was no exception. Check out the same float from the All America Parade from this site where you’ll find the first iteration as a beach themed paradise, merely 3 years prior in 1987. Same yellow slide, palm trees, circular area where the lifesaver was replaced by the MMC logo. The biker platform is also there, and is actually used to ride in and out the float. Radical! And guess what? It was reused once again in 1995, from a certain surreal mouse-themed nightmare of a parade that no one ever again in the 21st century will ever experience the pleasure of witnessing and being equally intrigued and horrified. And yes that is the exact same yellow colored slide but now dotted with tri-circles. The platform remains as a ride-off for skateboards and skates. Tubular! Now the question that lingers however… whatever happened to it? Did it sat and rot in the Florida sun like the Spectromagic floats? Is it somewhere on property hidden away? Who knows? -- source link
