the-full-shakespearience:This production epitomized the Macbeth aesthetic. Lots of fog, blood, stone, fire, and dead trees. It was genuinely frightening. Banquo was a mess of blood, Lady Macbeth did some unearthly screaming, and the witches were exceptionally witchy. I’ve read and watched this play, so I how what happens, but I was still enthralled. At the end of the play there’s a crowd cheering Malcolm, and the stage is lit in warm tones. All of a sudden the light and music change and the three witches turn around to reveal that they were part of the crowd. The last image I had was the third witch staring into the audience with blind, white eyes. I’m still uneasy. So visually stunning, so well acted, so worth it. -- source link
