silversoma:The 1997 version of Cinderella with Brandy and Whitney Houston continues to be my favorite version of Cinderella. I chose to draw this moment between Fairy Godmother and Cinderella instead of her and the Prince because to me her relationship isn’t the true meaning of the film.“I deserve to be loved, and that’s what I found out tonight.” - Cinderella (1997)Cinderella found the courage within herself to leave her abusive home. Her time at the ball wasn’t with the goal of falling in love with the Prince, but was a decision of freedom, and a reminder that she is truly deserving of love. We should all remind ourselves that we deserve to be loved. Be kind, but recognize when you’re sacrificing yourself for the sake of others. There is music in you that is begging to come out.Fun fact: The musical notes are actually based on the sheet music for the song titled “There’s Music in You” from Rodger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. -- source link
