glorianas:Elizabeth of York was born in the Palace of Westminster on February 11th, 1466. She was the first child of Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville. In 1486 she married King Henry VII and became Queen of England like her mother before her. Henry and Elizabeth would have seven children although only four would live past infancy. These children were Prince Arthur, Margaret, Queen of Scots, Mary, Queen of France and Henry VIII of England. Elizabeth died on her 37th birthday in the Tower of London after giving birth to a short lived daughter named Katherine. She was deeply mourned by her subjects and family. Her husband would never really recover from her death and died only six years later in 1509. Her memory was deeply cherished by her second son Henry VIII who believed her to be the perfect consort and mother. -- source link
