Summer is now gone for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, but that doesn’t mean that the energy of the Oceans will take a break. Water covers 71% of Earth’s surface, and almost all of it is salt water.Water is where life originated. This is one of the main reasons why I decided to go for this deck, the Whispers of the Ocean Oracle by Angela Hartfield with artwork by Ekaterina Golovanova, published by Blue Angel. With a clear objective, “immersing oneself in the wisdom of the deep”, this vibrant and enchanting deckbrings big but hidden worlds to our lives. Though blue is definitely present, the hues in this deck are as varied and alive as the very different creatures it presents. Indeed, one of its lines is: “enjoy the flow and master the currents of your life with playful dolphins, patient seahorses, regenerative starfish and other fascinating marine beings”. From mammals, to crustaceans, to fish, to vegetation, there’s so much life brimming from these 50 cards.Blue Angel adds: “[it]delves beneath the surface and connects you with ancient, knowing and wondrous companions so you can draw on greater strength, replenish your reserves, turn the tide on uncertainty and emerge with clarity, purpose and confidence. Powerful, versatile and sensitive, Whispers of the Ocean will help you ride the waves of life so you can come out on top”. Indeed, this deck feels like incredible pushes of energy, like the waves of an ocean. The colour palette is ample, vibrant and features a delicious light play in a way that the cards seem to be illuminated on their own. The key ideas at the bottom (in bigger font) are expansive enough to hone your intuition, but if you need something more, the longer text below them deliver beautiful messages to work on.What is more, as usual with this publishing house, the juicy book adds yet another layer. At 120+ pages, it features an introduction (which includes how to work with the cards and a few spreads), and messages for the cards. These are structured with a black and white image of the card, the key idea and message that appears in it, and a longer description with meanings and suggestions to work on. Both the deck and book come in a sturdy two-part box lined in royal blue. The Whispers of the Ocean Oracle is alive. It brings us closer to the ocean, which for some may seem far away, but which is all around. It is of course radiant with water energy, but it is also earthy in the way in which the marine soil shows off its abundant fertility. It is extremely powerful, but also fun, refreshing and comforting. If you are interested, head over Blue Angel Publishing for additional images and a sample of the guidebook! -- source link
