Life is funny, I think it’s finally starting to hit me that I own this little bucolic dream at the farmhouse. It’s a life that I dreamt of for so long that I don’t think I realized it had arrived. I look back at these photos from last year with a bit of a disconnect after the past two months. So many of the buildings and trees don’t exist anymore, but rebuilding is almost complete and soon we’ll be planting dozens of trees and bushes to fill in all the spaces. I’ve been baking a lot of cakes lately cause I have this profound gratitude for the life I get to live here in the middle of nowhere, for the community we are a part of, for the community we create, for the landscapes and the country visions that bring me joy, for the pride of place, and for the promise that we’re just getting started. Find someplace you love, bury some roots deep in the ground and grow. Life is too short and sweet to not be grateful and at peace. As we continue to rebuild I hope to share more of that journey… the good, the bad, the insurance nightmares, and the promise of all the things to come. Hopefully one day you’ll stop by for a visit. I’ll have the sweet tea and pie waiting. Follow @waltoncreekfarmhouse for more l, but I promise I’ll keep sharing the farmhouse life here on @folkmagazine too! https://instagr.am/p/CalTywdO6uR/ -- source link
