toastyhat:HAPPY LATE CHRISTMAYEARS QUILLY I didn’t mean for there to be writing to go with this but I started thinking about it and couldn’t stop.—The school board has been making statements about troll couples attending dances for years, citing the perceived volatility of kismesis couples, the reason for the Moirail and Auspistice Accompaniment Act of 1997 (grossly irrelevant to the matter at hand), and reminding the public in general that “troll romance is just different from human romance and we’re sure they would rather have their own events anyway”.They’d never, however, said it to a troll’s face, and certainly not to Karkat Vantas’s face. Any troll on the street would have been able to tell the school officials they were wrong, but only Vantas could explain it in such detail, with such vitriol, and at such length. Between his explaining and his date’s outraged objections to the morality of their decisions, the air in the room soon smelled of cowed chagrin.And so it was that the school’s first interspecies couple—as well as a few bold matespritships and one moiraillegiance—attended Homecoming and busted out some serious moves on the dance floor.
