Here’s the long delayed next installation of embroidery science: durability testing edition! I actually washed these before thanksgiving, but I didn’t have time to take photos before I left to visit family and then after I got back I kept forgetting to get around to it. Whoops.Durability TestingDay 302 washes0 driesFor the most part, they look pretty much like they did after the first wash. The places that were already fraying have frayed a little bit more, but the difference is fairly minor compared to the difference between unwashed and one wash. They look a little more wrinkled, but that could easily be due to me being less thorough in ironing them or to waiting so long after washing to do so. On one corner the buttonhole stitches have rotated in a bit more, but mostly it looks like they did whatever moving they were going to do the first time around. There’s still no issue with any of the stitching coming loose, even on the untreated patches. If you missed the previous reports, check out the embroidery science or durability testing tags. If you’d like to see more individual photos, they’re all in a google drive folder here. -- source link
