Here’s the value pass I did on Star Guardian Lulu - the big one on top was my favourite version. As I’m working, it’s important to keep in mind the design’s context, which is why I include the in-game map during this phase. Something I learned awhile back was just because something looks good, doesn’t mean it’ll work in-game, so now I try to design for gameplay first and foremost.
