lesbian-lizards:fetichiste-vulvaire-heterophobe:Thanks for reminding me to dedicate my time towards my lesbian sistersYikes. Also *cough* the only reasons the statistics sometimes seem high is because they can be manipulated to look like that due to two females = two chances of violence in any given coupling. I’ve seen the same thing done to gay men to make it seem like they have *double* the rate of violence compared to straight men. Also, lesbians are more likely to defend themselves against an abusive s/o, more likely than straight women, straight men and gay men, and each time they do it’s another statistic added to the ratio, waiting to be manipulated by lesbophobes and used against us. Trans woman ‘lesbian’ violence also gets added in, making the numbers seem higher yet again. Also, it’s not “lesbians” specifically who are violent, women CAN be abusers no matter how they identify The wording of this post makes it seem like lesbians specifically are just monsters which is blatant lesbophobia. When talking about domestic violence in specially female/female relationships factors such as internalized homophobia and minority stress must also be taken into account otherwise your analysis is useless *cough* -- source link
