These are my cultural dolls (and trinkets, rocks and a feather) on my dresser. I know the picture is bad, I took it on my phone and I have a hand tremor. I collect cultural dolls. They are all antiques except the Matryoshka. -The pink one in front is Filipino and she’s wearing a Maria Clara dress. I named her Maribel- The purple and blue one in the front is Russian and she is wearing a Sarafan and Kokoshnik. I named her Varvara. It belonged to my Grandma R- The Matryoshka doll is actually Ukrainian, I got it for Christmas one year- The Orange doll is Chinese I believe, IDK it belonged to my Granma M. I didn’t name her because IDK enough about Chinese names to give her a nice one.-The one in the glass dome, I’m not sure what culture it is, it might be Korean or Japanese. I’m not sure. It was given to me by my aunt and she found it at the thrift store. I don’t have a name for her.-The small pair of dolls are Czech and they were my Grandma R’s. I named them Lukas and Marina-The left one in the box is a Bosnian doll, she is crooked because she used to be on another shelf and she fell and broke a hip. I got her for my birthday a few years ago. I named her Jasmina. -The right one in a box that is kinda hidden is a Moldovan doll. I got her for Christmas a few years ago. I named her Iona. Both the boxed dolls are from a Russian porcelain doll company named Deagostini. These are some of my prized possessions. I took a picture today because I cleaned them and I got new curtains. -- source link
