Explain to me exactly how they don’t fuck with your life, each and every one, and how they’re somehow a “natural third sex” (as if you could lump all intersex conditions together like that).“But why?” When you take the definition of woman away from females, you turn it away from biological sex and on to a shaky notion of self identification. The definition of woman and man need to be defined. There are problems in our society that are based on sex. At the end of the day, if everyone was trans, it would still be “the penis people over the vagina people”. We would still have sexism and misogyny. If we can no longer pinpoint misogyny as something experienced exclusively by females, then what the fuck is the point of trying to liberate anyone anymore?2. You can deconstruct gender roles while not identifying as something else entirely. Identifying as something else in order to deconstruct gender roles only enforces them. If you’re a boy because you’re masculine, a girl because you’re feminine, or nonbinary because you’re androgynous, that just makes the construct of gender even more rigid. Proudly being male or female and trans would help deconstruct gender roles, like Louise Berry and other trans women have been doing, as well as many radical feminist trans men. 3. Sex work is degrading. I’m not going to say it’s a shit experience for every single sex worker, because a VERY small amount may enjoy what they do, but when you’re promoting the idea that consent can be bought and sold and that women (I say women because it’s a female dominated group) are simply things for men to put their dick in. Prostitution also has a disproportionately high rate of rape and sexual assault compared to any other job.By the way, it’s prostitution.
