A Corner of the Artist’s Studio with a Bust of Leopoldo de’ Medici (1905). Giovanni Boldini (Italian, 1842-1931). Watercolor on paper. The white plaster bust was given to Boldini by the director of the Uffizi, in lieu of payment for his portrait completed by Boldini in 1892. This bust closely resembles a sculpture of Cardinal Leopoldo de’ Medici by Giovanni Battista Foggini that was in the Louvre. Among the paint brushes and other items, Boldini includes what appears to be a preliminary study for La Passeggiata al Bois (1909). -- source link
