A friend was in town for his birthday weekend and we were both more than pleasantly surprised that we both planned to hit this show for separate reasons (me for my Speedy Ortiz habit and he for Sleeping Bag). He said he had found them randomly via Spotify and it turned out to be one of the best nights ever (met some great people after). Marginally shoegaze-y but riffy enough to keep me up/excited the entire time. I’m a sucker for a riff. Top three for me: Acer, Saturday Night, Allison Cole. Hard to find recent videos, so this one is kind of old but the point is…the drummer is their singer and they play their sets without a whole lot of tearing around. -- source link
