procrete: Interbau Project 20, Berlin, Germany (circa 1958). Designed by French architects Raymond Lopez and Eugene Beaudouin, Project 20 is a 16 storey point block. It is planned on a north-south axis, with flats on each floor separated into two parallel banks, with 3 flats in each. The lift and landing area separates them. In a single bank, the central flat is half a landing lower than the flats beside it. The higher flats are accessed by an additional small set of stairs. The structure is an in-situ reinforced concrete cross-wall system, some of which give place to columns on the ground floor to create an open walk-through entrance. -- source link
