Maybe asking his friends to help out with the setup had been a bad idea but oh well, here goes nothing. Once given his cue, he felt a wave of anxiousness wash over him; his adam’s apple bobbing as he swallowed before immediately speaking up. “Hi, my name’s Joshua Hong or Hong Jisoo, whichever you guys prefer using.”, he said with a lopsided grin, easing up a little. “Uh, I’m eighteen years old— gonna turn nineteen this december, but i guess you already know that, huh.”, he spoke on, feeling his face heat up at the embarrassment he felt. “I’m in college at UC Davis right now, double major in Psychology and Human Development, and a minor in Computer Science and I’m a barista and a freelance programmer on the side— it helps when paying for tuition.”, Joshua continued on, shrugging a little at the confession. “But that’s pretty irrelevant news but uh— I’ve been dancing for most of my life and I’d like to think I’m pretty good at it too.”, he spoke on as he rubbed the back of his neck, thinking of whether he should let the secret out in the open now or later. “This is technically my parent’s doing— they really want me to be in this industry, but please, don’t let that dissuade you or anything. I will work hard to strive and achieve my goal.” Wʜʏ ᴀᴍ ɪ ʜᴇʀᴇ?→ Gnawing at his lower lip, Joshua thought about the question— he hadn’t really thought that much about the topic before but he knew that he had a time limit on his thought process. “Aspirations? I’d really like to be happy.”, he answered with a nod. “Dancing makes me happy— singing makes me happy too, but I think I succeed a lot when I dance. You know? It’s like a whole new persona has formed when I hit the stage and I perform in front of everyone. There’s such a thrill when I hear the claps and cheers afterwards, the audience being pleased on what I’ve done.”, he adds on with a fond smile, his brain momentarily thinking back on his memories. “Or when I’m dancing alone inside the dance studio— I really get to relax and just go with the flow. I let myself go and all of my troubles and worries vanish once I start dancing, as cliche as that sounds.”, Joshua states with a soft chuckle escaping his lips. “I of course know that it’s not going to be easy if I get the opportunity to become a trainee, let alone an idol, but I’m willing to do whatever it takes to succeed and to be happy.
