Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, Munich.Max Halbe (German, 1865-1944) was a dramatist and main exponent of Naturalism. He published Eisgang in 1892, and then his primary work, Jugend (Youth), in 1893, which was one of the most successful contemporary stage plays in Germany. He maintained close contact with Corinth who made several pictures of Halbe and his wife Luise. -- source link
