Determining Noun Gender | German Quizlet SetDid you know that there are rules to determining a noun’s gender in German? Frankly, I didn’t. The way I was taught in school was pretty much just to memorize it for each individual vocab word. Which is unhelpful when you come across new words and frankly, does not help it stick. There are of course exceptions to these rules, but for the most part, I found it very helpful to take an hour to learn it properly.I made this Quizlet set to accompany my studying with the German Grammar Drills book by Ed Swick during my recent livestream on YouTube. Highly recommend that book for German learners!Now, how should you study this?First start with the Gender Rules Set, which takes you through the many rules for each gender. Before you do anything on Quizlet, you should consider taking some notes on this so you retain it better either by looking at this set or, better, by looking up an online resource on German gender rules. Then study this set under “Learn” using the term (not definition) until you master them.Then, move onto the Gender Practice Set, which provides over 60 example words for you to practice with (I’ll be adding more as I continue to study this topic). Again, use “Learn” with only the term showing (can find it in Learn settings), or else it won’t make sense!Good luck with studying! -- source link
