blackmantagirl:girlsofmoonlight:One of the things that’s always bugged me about this storyline (despite that I know I shouldn’t think too hard on it, because it’s a magical girl manga, etc.) is just how the Black Moon Clan had access to time travel.I can accept that the Moon Kingdom had access, they have the whole Space-Time Key and the door they protect, they have a multitude of Sailor Soldiers with a multitude of powers.  But how do the Black Moon Clan or Wiseman have access to it?And then I was rewatching the scene were Wiseman is obsessed with destroying the Silver Crystal and I thought about how Death Phantom is an incarnation of Chaos.  And Chaos is sort of the mirror image to Cosmos/the White Moon family line.So, if the White Moon family has access to time travel (we’ve seen Queen Serenity knew about that door, we have both Black Moon and Stars using the time travel aspect, and we know Sailor Cosmos is somehow part of the White Moon family, so she would have access to it as well), perhaps Chaos has access to time travel, which would mean Death Phantom has access to time travel.I mean, he’s absolutely shit at using it, that part you just kind of have to roll with it, but it makes a lot more sense to me now, that they have it because of Chaos, not just Because Of Reasons.  THAT’S MY THEORY AND I’M STICKING TO IT.It’s pretty obvious that Chaos could have time-travel abilities and be able to manipulate it.  After all, if you go into the Mythos, Chaos is the beginning of nearly a lot of Mythology and things that spring from it. The concept of time is also a thing that can spring from it as well. I mean, the BMC can easily control/manipulate time without the need for the Time Door/Keys because they’re also grounded in technology.  Even right now, there are scientists that are figuring out how Time Travel could work and how one could travel through time as a legit scientific research and even one person half way figured out how to do it- theoretically speaking. (I can’t even remember who it was. ).SO, if you’ve had over 900+ years and an additional Psychic Powers plus the understanding to manipulate energy? And you have a boy-genius and competent people working for you?Time Travel could easily be an accessible thing for you.  And since they figured out how to at least send people back one at a time making it stable at least, it can work pretty well. One of the things I often think of with situations like this is that Arthur C. Clark quote:  “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”So it’s entirely possible that what basically just gets written off as magic (which, from a Doylist point of view, is pretty much what it should be called, because I think that was the intention, but I enjoy looking at things from a Watsonian pov like a whole lot) is instead very advanced technology.  Maybe even the 30th Century versions of the characters don’t really understand it as technology, because it seems like a lot of what they have is based on Silver Millennium technology, but Chaos is a much bigger form of life, it’s much, much older and I can believe that it has access to things like time travel or other things that seem like magic to us because we don’t have the understanding of what it’s doing.I mean, we don’t know how Sallor Cosmos traveled back in time, we don’t see either her or Chibichibi with a Time Key, so maybe it’s just something that the 30th Century versions need to help them, maybe they don’t fully understand it yet themselves, but they can still use it. -- source link
