Port Begging for: Fantasy Zone CollectionPublisher: SegaDeveloper: M2Original Platform: PS2Port it to: Xbox One, PS3, PS4, 3DS, Vita, Xbox 360, PCFantasy Zone has always been one of those weird franchises - well known, had a bunch variety of versions out there, but ultimately not that popular, at least now, but has a been a big part of Sega’s history.Cartoony and colorful, Fantasy Zone follows Opa-Opa as you shoot and bomb your way through screens of enemies, flying left and right Defender-style as you clear the place of enemies, while upgrading yourself through the shop with new weapons and new abilities. It’s had a ton of released through the Megadrive, Arcade, Master System, Game Gear and everything inbetween.Back in 2008, through Sega’s Ages series, M2 did a fantastic job creating the ultimate collection of the titles - Fantasy Zone, Fantasy Zone II, Super Fantasy Zone and all sorts of obscure games that have the character in it. Exclusive to this version was Fantasy Zone II DX - a remake and reimagine of the second title, previously a Master System game which had simpler graphics, to an actual arcade game using actual arcade technology. It’s basically the “definitive” Fantasy Zone game.Unfortunately, like a lot of the Sega Ages titles, it was left in Japan, and only on the PS2 when it was already late in its life. If Sega were to continue their Sega Heritage line of games, than this definitive collection of everything Opa-Opa would be a great addition to a digital lineup on any platform. -- source link
