obsessive-fangirl-disorder:Leave Wanda AloneSo I’ve been seeing and hearing about people’s take on Wanda’s hesitation to kill Vision in Avengers Infinity War. And in my opinion, can we just leave her alone?Because it seems that everyone is giving Wanda a hard time because she had to do it to save the world and nobody really cared about Vision at all so who cared if he died? And maybe it’s people’s lack of loving Vision that made it seem that Wanda’s choice to kill him and save the world wasn’t that difficult. Afterall, people are bringing up Okoye in Black Panther who was going to kill her husband for her country. So why doesn’t Wanda kill the love of her life for the world?!Hmmm, maybe because it’s the love of her life!I mean think about it. Wanda probably never even dated before having grown up differently then your average kid (plus Pietro would’ve totally beat their asses if someone even tried flirting with Wanda). But, I mean, the only boy that’s ever really been in Wanda’s life has been her big brother, Pietro. And after he died, she had no one. Sure, the Avengers were there and everything, but she was still pretty new to the team and it’s not like any of them lost a twin before. But you know who else was new to the team? Vision.Vision was the only one that Wanda could really relate to. They were both new to the Avengers and both were surrounded by things they’ve never experienced before. Plus even though we didn’t really see it on screen, we know that the pair does talk quite a bit with each other. And with Clint being with his family more and not around, Vision is most likely the only one that really takes the time to talk with her as a friend. So to Wanda, Vision is the one who was there for her when she needed it most. And so her hesitation to kill him was completely understandable and sad to me because that’s probably the exact same way I would’ve reacted too.Okoye still had people she loved and trusted and who she considered family and that’s why she was ready to kill her husband, but Wanda only had Vision left. If he died, then she’d have lost her brother and the first person she fell in love with. Not only that, but she had to be the one to do it. Can you imagine having to kill the one person that pulled you out of your darkest hole? The one who was able to pick up the pieces and also share some of theirs to make you whole again? And you know what, Wanda-haters? She did it anyway because it was her duty. Yes, she hesitated, but she was able to push through the pain and chose humanity over her own happiness and love story. And that to me is stronger than someone who would’ve done it without hesitation. The real problem though is that some people just failed to see it through her eyes. They didn’t understand her reasoning and emotions behind those few seconds of doubt. Because in the end, I guarantee you, a lot of us would’ve been Wanda in that scene. -- source link
