Mary Stuart. Born in London in 1631. She was the third child of King Charles I of England and Queen Henrietta Maria. Mary was the first English Princess with the title ‘Princess Royal’, as the eldest daughter of the King. She married the five years older Prince William II of Orange in 1641. At the moment was Mary only nine years old! William died in 1650 of smallpox and the couple’s one and only son was born just a week after his father’s death. This son became later King William III of England. Also Mary died of smallpox, in 1660. -- source link
