Adam and I were pretty devastated when we woke this morning and realized that there was gear missing from the back of our beloved camp-mobile, Strider. We have a strong attachment to the things that became our everyday tools during our adventures through the PNW and the far reaches of northern BC. But when we investigated what was missing, we realized that someone had taken only the essentials: warm clothes, soap, a lot of non-perishable food items. I thought about how draining it is emotionally and logistically to live outside in Vancouver’s damp, dark winters. 2016 has been a tumultuous year, and the question I keep coming back to is, how do I transform my fear and frustration into kindness? How do I transform myself into a more graceful human? Today, it means wishing that whoever is wearing my hut booties is safe, dry, and fed, and sending them a bit of love for good measure. #vancity -- source link
