guyghoul: irongut1: cobaltcerberus: Various screenshots from Crocpond Researching Crocpond: Wow…. this is a hell of a thing trying to google-fu my way around to find the source of these screenshots, along with more information about Dex’s Gym, and just about anything to do with anything Crocpond related outside of Rindin the Puffer… For once my research is actually coming up dry enough that I had to send this message off to the contact us page of crocpond.com in the hopes that THEY can shed some light on what this is or where all the content is. Hello! I have been researching crocpond for a while in search of the source animations for a series of screenshot’s I have found online. Namely these: http://svondir.tumblr.com/post/67330123588/cobaltcerberus-various-screenshots-from I have scoured about online and all the official sources, and all I can seem to find is things related to Rindin the pufferfish. I see character pages on the websites, but no actual short films or products containing any content on the other characters like Dex or Rompa, though the screenshots suggest that there is other content available.I would like to know, are these screenshots from this unknown animation and Dex’s Gym a part of a released animation/game/film that is unavailable online or in the USA? Or are they7 leaked screenshots of an upcoming product? Either way i have spent hours researching and finally decided the only potential answer I will ever receive is from you directly. So if you could explain where I can purchase or even simply find out the name of the source of these screenshots. I would appreciate it! I know these characters are quite popular based on appearance along, and i myself am a fan, and that people on tumblr have been trying to research too and coming up drier than dry, so I figured I’d post all the links and stuff I could possibly find with my google-fu over the course of days. Of course I come up with the main website, crocpond.com, which is all about Rindin the pufferfish. The original animation you can watch on vimeo here. That video was posted by the artist/animator who worked on it, named Robert Cote. Crocpond seems to be linked to, or rather a sub-division of FatCat Animations, who also made another short animation by Robert Cote as well, you can see that here. They have also put out as part of CrocPond a trailer for Dex’s Gym, which Robert put up 3 years ago now. The status of Dex’s Gym I have not been able to find out about at all, and the trailer seems to be the only thing I can manage to find about it aside from another tumblr post with gif screencaps. One of the most promising things I saw pop up in my google searching was a CrocPond specific wiki! Unfortunately, it turns out to literally only have 2 pages on it at the moment. Though it does have a lot of images uploaded to it, 35 atm. I’ll probably go there and add character pages literally just copypasting the bios from the crocpond website to give it SOME semblance of usefulness… I found a few other odd links to websites with information about the trademark of crocpond or the company. I’m still not sure what to make of them, but here they are for you to see. http://www.trademarkia.com/crocpond-77219669.html http://yetizen.com/2012/12/06/crocpond-building-character-with-characters/ http://www.thefreelibrary.com/CrocPond%5BTM%5D+Launches+Anti-Bullying+RINDIN%5BTM%5D+App+for+iPhone,+iPad…-a0270788161 I have also just found a wikifur page for crocpond, which features the names of the crocpond shorts! The names are as follows: Kraken Straits Pond on the Moor Land of Uncertainty Bog of Naga Heaven’s Gateway Doing a tumblr tag search on crocpond shows me that a few other people have done some research of their own. Granted I can’t verify anything they said, but two or three posts stuck out at me to look at. First, Ravenworks actually went and BOUGHT the Rindin app and reviewed it, which was very helpful actually, because part of my speculation was that the other short animations could be found in the app, which turns out not to be so. Then I found this post which linked to the behind the nscenes story about Fatcat animations and the studio, and apparently the controversy about paying employees and such and that the company has gone belly up for four years now. I’m having trouble making sense of it all, and again, I can’t find any links to verify anything that was said or anything, so i have no idea. The fact that the website for crocpond is still up though is confusing when I think about all this and so i’m not gonna try and wrap my head around it. Researching and trying to find the source of the screenshots and finding the short films is my goal, not to find the history of the company/companies. And then an ebay search found up two people selling Rindin DVD’s. And that was about all the useful stuff I could find. the rest was a ton of Rindin related articles and ads and copypasted pages all about this one pufferfish product. So…. I dunno. Waiting on a response from the crocpond guys themselves and we’ll see what they say! Hopefully they can shed some light on all this, and I’ll update this post if they do! Sapristi… I should add my own micro-research. Crocpond has its own Tumblog. There is another post that details the failings of FatCat animation. There are a couple more picture posts. The CrocPond app is pooie, apparently. I was made aware of th existence of this old post of mine.I decided to link to a Twitter thread that actually has a link to more old CrocPond stuff:https://nttr.stream/ChriSobieniak/status/1220799116688662530 -- source link
