Hannah Loring (1763). John Singleton Copley (American, 1738-1815). Oil on canvas. Detroit Institute of Arts. The lovely young lady is Hannah Loring, the eldest child of Commodore Joshua Loring and his wife Mary. Hannah was eighteen years old when her family moved into the Jamaica Plain mansion in 1760. Two years later, when she wed Joshua Winslow, she became the first of many brides to be married in the House. The gown she wears would have been fashioned from several yards of very expensive silk and lace, a further indication of the luxury, affluence and wealth enjoyed by the Lorings and Winslows before the American Revolution. -- source link
