gffa:“What Jedi gave their life so that you might live?”DO YOU EVER GO BACK THROUGH THE EARLY SCENES OF THE GAME AND REALIZE JUST HOW BRUTAL A LINE THIS REALLY IS?Trilla obviously had a strong suspicion–a Padawan without a Master nearby, the Master was most likely dead and it was pretty common for the Master to die for the student, if they were faced with such a dangerous situation. Even within the game, we’re given other examples of this, in the sense echoes Cal picks up.It’s brutal because it’s exactly what happened and it’s exactly a huge part of what Cal’s carrying around. But it’s even more brutal because, looking back after finishing the game, we know Trilla now, too.The Padawan whose Master wouldn’t die so she could live. The Padawan who instead had to suffer and be tortured into becoming someone else because her Master gave her up.Seeing this young Jedi Padawan, who is still out there and still free, no matter what wounds and damage he carries with him after the devastation of his people (her people, too, the Jedi are her culture and people, too), that he’s still alive and still himself, oh, that has to dig her nails into her own wounds just as much as his.He doesn’t even know how lucky he is, some part of her must think. The part of her that carries so much hate for Cere, blames her for not being strong enough to not break under torture, instead of blaming the Emperor, instead of blaming Vader, the people who actually did the horrible things. That part of her must seethe on some level, under the sadistic glee she approaches him with, because some Jedi died so he could live. But no one died so Trilla could live, but instead Trilla died and became this. -- source link
