The Hope Valley Church + Jack Thornton School (from the Hallmark television series When Calls the Heart)I’ve kind of been into dioramas lately and I felt that fans of the show might like to see a diorama featuring one of the landmark buildings—the church (that also doubles as a schoolhouse). This bad boy was an experiment constructed with cardstock and tape. Dimensions were pulled from my main monitor out of sheer desperation.It’s not perfect, but the goal is to construct this building again using sturdier materials (for example, foam or styrene sheets). Hopefully a sturdier construction could handle more fiddly materials, like gutters, trim, and a corrugated roof! The only part I’m really disappointed with is the steeple, but I think on a retry I will make that from a foam base as the specific shape should be easier to carve from a solid shape than it was to try to make with fiddly pieces of cardstock! -- source link
