neondragonart:I have been working on a 75 gallon planted aquarium for the past couple months. Having never done a planted tank before, it’s been interesting learning how to care for the aquarium environment as a whole. I’m currently running a 7.4PH, high lighting tank with no CO2 injection, so my plant selection that I can work with is not as large as it could be, but it’s not terrible either. I am waiting for things to grow out, but I’m hoping to have a densely planted tank. The fish is one of five turquoise rainbowfish I picked up a couple of weeks ago. The photo really does not do its colors justice. It’s an iridescent fish, and difficult to photograph. These fellas are currently 3 inches long, but will grow up to 4.5 and fill out when they reach adulthood. The bamboo shrimp in the second photo an interesting little fellow that joined my tank tonight. He’s hiding here, but when he comes out he has these 4 fan-hands that he spreads out wide to catch debree in the water. He also changes color from blue to red to yellow to brown! Chameleon shrimp! He’s about two and a half inches long. I’m going to be watching closely to make sure that the rainbowfish leave him alone. -- source link
