Road Synchron————————————&md
Road Synchron————————————————When using this card as Synchro Material for the Synchro Summon of a monster other than “Road Warrior”, reduce this card’s Level by 2. If this card attacks, at the end of the Damage Step: Increase its Level by 1 until the end of this turn.————————————————Can Be Found In: Starter Deck: Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s 2009 (5DS2-EN006), Duelist Pack: Yusei 2 (DP09-EN002), Legendary Collection 5D’s Mega Pack (LC5D-EN011)In very rare occasions, Synchro Monsters will require a very specific monster to be summoned. Quite similar to several Fusion Monsters, Synchro Summons under that restriction will lead to a whole Deck to assure their arrival. While in some cases a single Tuner is able to summon several Synchro Monsters relying on it as their core material, others are easily forgotten due only working on a very particular summon unless further options are added in the future.“Road Synchron” is a very particular Tuner, limiting its effects to a single Synchro Monster or taking a slow approach otherwise. If used on any other Synchro Summon which isn’t “Road Warrior” the Level of “Road Synchron” will be reduced by two, becoming a tricky drawback when playing outside this condition. But “Road Synchron” doesn’t need to become a material immediately, as by declaring attacks it will increase its Level after the Damage Step. Overall “Road Synchron” is a very odd Tuner with a self-demerit and a battle effect might rarely have uses, yet gained some a small recognition just for being the core card of “Road Warrior”.Aiming towards “Road Warrior” or not, “Road Synchron” has a solid pool of options to become available for any Synchro Summon. Part of the Synchron archetype, “Tuning” will search for “Road Synchron” by the simple cost of milling a card in our Deck. The more we invest in the archetype the more opportunities we will have to summon this monster, ranging from “Junk Speeder” swarming the board with Synchrons to “Starlight Junktion” replacing a Synchron with another. Options to assure “Road Synchron” will increase if we also focus on its Type, as cards like “Gear Gigant X” and “Cyber Repair Plant” won’t take any difficulties to add it on our hand. Lastly, monsters like “Summoner Monk” and “Tin Goldfish” will potentially come along “Road Synchron” ready for any Synchro Summon even if is not towards “Road Warrior”.As a Tuner, “Road Synchron” doesn’t have nothing much to do but assist us in our Synchro Summons. Obviously the main objective is “Road Warrior” and its ability to summon monsters from our Deck for further setups, and with staple materials like “Quillbolt Hedgehog” and “Tuningware” we shouldn’t take long to prepare the three monsters required for its summon. However, despite a Level decrease when aiming to other Synchro Monsters don’t hesitate on using “Road Synchron” for other summons, specially as can take advantage of Level 4 support like the mentioned “Summoner Monk” to prepare low Level summons we might need at the moment. Additionaly, “Road Synchron” has no drawbacks when comes to other Extra Deck summons, so will work as good for Rank 4 Xyz Summons and even Link Summons. Its battle effect will have rare uses given the nature of materials, yet keep on mind that “Road Synchron” only needs to attack and thus can work along protective effects to survive against stronger enemies and still gain its Level increase.“Road Synchron” has some complications due its sole focus on “Road Warrior”, but still is a viable material in various Decks. With solid support from several parts of a Duel, “Road Synchron” can easily work arround its own Level decrease to assist us with any Synchro Summons as well other Extra Deck setups. However, many Synchrons in the same situation as “Road Synchron” became quickly overshadowed by “Quickdraw Synchron”, a monster with not only a more flexible usage due its Special Summon but also the ability to replace any material needed for a Synchro Summon. Combined with a slow ability to increase its own Level, “Road Synchron” might have decent coverage but many other Tuners easily took over its position.Personal Rating: B-+ Increases its Level after declaring an attack+ Solid options to even work along its Level decrease- Reduces its Level by two if is not used on the Synchro Summon of “Road Warrior”- Battle effect is slow and might rarely be used- “Quickdraw Synchron” is a more flexible material for “Road Warrior” and others -- source link
