Nyx (Νυξ meaning ‘Night’) was the goddess of the night in Greek mythology
Nyx (Νυξ meaning ‘Night’) was the goddess of the night in Greek mythology and one of the primordial gods who emerged as the dawn of creation. She was an ancient deity envisaged as the very substance of the night and as a veil of dark mists drawn across the sky to obscure the light of Aither, the shining blue of the heavens. Her opposite number was Hemera (Goddess of daylight) who scattered the mists of night at dawn. Nyx’s appearances are sparse in surviving mythology, but have revealed her as a figure of such exceptional power and beauty that she was even feared by Zeus himself.(Ziad Nakad Fall 2017 Haute Couture Collection) -- source link
