Artist Emiliano Santalucia created this unused cover for the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe
Artist Emiliano Santalucia created this unused cover for the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe comic of the 2000s. Unfortunately, the comic book was canceled before this issue would be published, but we did hear that the blue female warrior with the albino riding cat was going to be called Illumina, and that she was a heroic warrior who was imprisoned in the Dark Hemisphere by the mystic barrier, which is why we never saw her before, and that she was going to be a crucial figure in the backstory to Masters of the Universe. There was a lot of speculation around this character, and we’ll never find out exactly who she was meant to be. A few theories: Illumina was Skeletor’s mother, finally revealed (like him, and like SyClone, she is from the blue pointed eared race who are refugees from a demonic dimension). Marv Wolfman supposedly wrote an entire origin for Skeletor in the comic that went unused. She was meant to be introduced as a love interest for Man-at-Arms and had a past with himShe was said to have been a “Guardian of Greyskull,” and had access to hidden secrets, hence the use of a battle cat. -- source link
