He loved her so much. all three of them together were a big ball of dysfunction junction but it worked. That friendship worked because Sherlock and Mary always knew they couldn’t live up to John’s standard and they didn’t even try. They were themselves and even though john could judge them for it- Sherlock and Mary had each other to lean on because they never judged each other. They just connected and loved each other. They protected each other the way sister and brother would. I will miss the Sherlock and Mary dynamic more than anything else. -- source link
