montereybayaquarium:found this one in the trashHey someone (and by someone, I mean @helianthus-heart ) asked for advice on paper towels, so this is my input:get a big pack of microfiber towels/cloths, something like thissometimes you can find them very cheap in the car cleaning section of stores. It’s how they were originally marketed and we picked ours up back in the day. They have been amazing, and amazingly durable. We’ve had some for oh at least 7 years now and they’re still holding up just fine. They do come in different thicknesses, and of course, colors and patterns. I like the thin ones for cleaning windows and the thicker ones for just about everything else.Found some cute ones at Aldis for cheap at one point, marketed as kitchen towels, and made them into my favorite comfy reusable cloth pads.Do know that there are no really “perfect” towel options. These microfiber towels ARE made from polyester, and there’s concerns that they might shed their own version of microbeads. How much they might do this more than any other polyester material, I’m not sure. However, cotton towels are very resource intensive and polluting to make, plus they don’t last nearly as long. You can always look at thrift stores for rags or things made from a material that would be a great rag though.$0.02 -- source link
