Congrats @questlove !!Repost・・・#NotABigDeal to y'all but briefly having a #whew moment. 100 days ago I decided: no more junk food. For the most part I was committed (committed to Vegan lifestyle, and for a good portion avoided greasy, fried, sugary, starchy foods—if it hit me and I had no options then i had seafood and vegan dessert every now and then. And I never dropped popcorn at the movies—eff all that–. So let’s say I was 94% Vegan. Point is I don’t think I’ve ever committed to something so hard in my life. You seen this page: 100 days w no Peanut Butter Capn Crunch? I Haven’t had Soul Food proper? There is a 24 hour Dunkin Donuts across the street! Cheesesteaks & Hoagies & Tastykakes & TahitianTreats–I’m a Philadelphian!! —I haven’t touched any of the potato chips & pretzels at work at the page desk (Doc Oz woulda been proud) I said I’d “see if I could commit to this lifestyle for 100 days (first thing I did today was ran to closet to try on a sweater I COULDNT FIT in November to see how far I’ve come)—welp what to do now. Austin is next "weak” imma allow myself that one treat. But I actually like where this is going. I thought I’d hate salads everyday and beets ugh. Everyday I eat beets and you know what? I love em now (eating them for breakfast) I’m not saying this is an easy journey. I too was mad depressed in nov and noticed the political atmosphere was indeed causing me to make one too many 4am Postmates runs to Popeyes (no Popeyes should be 24 hours, that’s criminal)–look no amount of preaching is gonna convert you. I’m just saying the one cat whose love of food is super WELL DOCUMENTED was committed enough to try and prolong his life and be more health conscious. Maybe one of you can use this as encouragement. 100 days at a time. See y'all in June, maybe I’ll be in 2005 clothes? Hahahaha. #Day100. tshirt courtesy of @okpshop -- source link
