OKAY, DOUBLE FUCK THE KAMINOANS FOR THAT SHIT) and he never met his father, he died before Sconto was born, but he heard stories about him.And this is the further tragedy, that he only heard stories about the Jedi, only assumed things because he was never there and never met any of the people actually involved, probably even his secondhand information didn’t come from people actually involved in whatever happened, so he says the clones were right to put them down, having no idea that the clones were mind-chipped into doing it against their will, having no idea that the Jedi were betrayed by their allies, thinking that the Jedi were the ones who betrayed their fellow soldiers in arms.Ultimately, the point of the book is very explicitly laid out, that the Jedi were lied about in the galaxy, that they were the ones who were betrayed (Karr can see the past when it’s imprinted on an object, he eventually sees what happened, and states it clearly), but the awfulness of this is even further reaching.Because the clones, too, were lied about. The horror that was forced on them, the way their own minds were taken from them, isn’t known to anyone in the galaxy, even a clone’s son doesn’t know the truth about his father because of the machinations that Palpatine put in place, that his lies and deceptions were aimed at taking the Jedi out, but they fucked over the lives of the clones, too, even the lines they scraped and clawed out for themselves, by leaving them as part of this story that Palpatine spun.Sconto is told a story about the Jedi having turned on the clones, not realizing that he’s part of a lie, that his hate is in all the wrong directions, that he doesn’t know the truth of what his own father was, and that’s heartbreaking. THE CLONES WERE SO ENTIRELY FUCKED OVER, EVEN THEIR NARRATIVE WAS FUCKED OVER, AND I HATE PALPATINE ALL OVER AGAIN. -- source link
