LJS 228 - [Mathematical tables]Today there’s something very, very different from our usual! One of the oldest texts that the library owns! This is a fragment of board coated with gesso, with a pair of holes along the long side for ties to other boards in a simple codex. It features five columns of Greek numerals demonstrating division by 8 on recto; verso is stained dark brown. It was probably written in a Christian community in Fayyūm, Egypt, in the 6th or 7th century. Such a unique piece! If you want to know more, click here. Otherwise, here you could find the video orientation, and here the facsimile! -- source link
