Films Watched in 2021- (17/???)Nomadland (2021) - Chloé Zhao (4.5/5)I’m normally a much bigger fan of “movies where things happen” than “movies about things,” but this one really works. McDormand blends in perfectly with the real people in this film, which may be more to Zhao’s credit than her own. If you ever want to put aside a day to Think About Things, watch this first; just be prepared for a couple frank suicide conversations before the credits roll.Also, considering what the director’s next movie is, I’m very curious as to when she got the call versus when they decided what film McDormand would be stopping into a theater for during her indefinite voyage. -- source link
