He would have bonded with all of them instantly, and it would have given his life Meaning and Purpose.He’d bond with the kids, but he’d be able to move on because they are Bigger now and they have to go to the Big Kid Class but he still sees them around all the time, and it finally teaches him how to let go of his attachments??? He’d find a kid that he’s particularly fond of and go to Obi-Wan and say “I have found your newest padawan.”this could have fixed so. many. things. ;_____;Heh, and Anakin would keep picking Obi-Wan’s padawans for him, and it would be annoying but damn if he wasn’t right every single time.Anakin finding a padawan for all the council members even those who have sworn off taking another. Dooku coming back to see Yoda and being confronted by Anakin about taking on Asajj properly. Yoda laughing as he is presented with a giant of a boy who feels like a laughing brook in the Force. Anakin smiling and not taking an apprentice because how could he choose only one. All the unchosen twelve year olds crying in his lap and him reminding them being a Jedi is more then being a knight.Not to mention a wise-cracking smartass for Mace Windu (think very similar to Obi-Wan).Also, I could see Anakin keeping in touch with all of the younglings as they get older, even those who go on to the Service Corps. Then, as time goes by, Anakin becomes the guy who Knows Everyone. The Council has a problem? Anakin knows someone who can fix it, whether it’s a knight or one of the Corps members or whatever.And in this ‘verse, Anakin’s emotional needs have been filled in a positive way, so he hasn’t been creepily obsessing over Padmé. Perhaps here they’re more BFF-ish than anything. He is thrilled to have someone to talk about the younglings (Padmé loves to hear about kids and also gets some insight into how Jedi are raised), and she gets someone to vent to about the state of the Republic (thus Anakin has clearer idea of how everything is going to shit in the government and it makes him warier of Palpatine than he was in canon - maybe this is why Anakin is constantly “forgetting” his comlink?).Absolutely!Anakinfeels obliged to entertain Palpatine, because, well, he was always sointerested and overly invested during his early years in Temple,arranging meetings, letting him vent, and so on. But whilethe guy listened eagerly to his woes about Obi-Wan and Order (or at least seemed to),he just doesn’t appears as interested in what progress Initiates are making, orhow he spend last day talking with them about what kind of lightsaber they wantto construct, or how Ahsoka/Katooni/Zatt picked up that form etc.So theymeet face-to-face less and less.Palpatineis that overbearing older… mentor friend whatever who you can’tjust ignore, because Obi-Wan raised him better than being THAT uncivilized, butit becomes obvious that all he wants to talks is the war? And he seems weirdlyinsistent that Anakin participate in it? And Anakin thinks the trust isflattering, and maybe Chancellor just thinks he’s that competent, but he alsogets the vibe that Palpatine expected him to become someone More Important inthe Order and war effort, and yeah. Not gonna happen. He sees how the mantle ofGeneral wears down Obi-Wan.And thereprobably are some other people in Order who–well, don’t say anything per se,but–they wonder. Shouldn’t the Chosen One be out there, destroying the Sith,bringing balance to the Force, or something? And nobody will say a peep,because being a creche master is, like, the height of responsibility, but thesentiment is there. So he has another reason to avoid calls from Palpatine,because Anakin can hear him echoing that accusation between the lines.So I turnedout to be a bad political investment, Anakin thinks nastily. Boo-hoo. Andhe goes off to rant at Obi-Wan about it, because it turns out Obi-Wan likesraging on Chancellor too. Who knew!And yes, at some point he reconnects with Padme. I’d imagine she’s the one who keep visiting him, because a) tales about younglings getting up to mischief is something she totally needs after long days in Senate, b) she hears all the best Jedi gossip c) she can rant about latest political nonsense and Anakin will listen d) they can freely bitch about Chancellor together.(I imagineObi-Wan and Anakin still went on mission to guard her in this verse. It was allVery Awkward, because at this point he didn’t think of her as the BeautifulAngel Who I Will Absolutely Marry for some time, but he still has eyes, ok.Anyway, after some less-than-smooth-sailing conversation, Padme, being thediplomat she is, catches onto the fact that Anakin will relax in her presenceif she gets him talking about the kids he’s mentoring. Thus all the mortifyingflirting gets replaced by Anakin gushing about his protégées.No idea how the Shmi Thing plays out. Maybe they leave for Tatooine earlier and Anakin managesto rescue her. Maybe they don’t and Shmi dies, but instead of slaughtering thewhole camp indiscriminately, Anakin comes to his senses once he hears an infantcrying and sees the mother cowering before him. IDK BUT IT TURNS OUTBETTER) -- source link
