phrynefishersfrocks:Phryne’s third outfit of “Deadweight” (Season 2, Episode 4) is a full-length black coat with embroidery on the back and the hems, on top of a black blouse and her black silk faille pants, along with her circular beret. While visually similar to her embroidered kimono, Miss Fisher’s belted coat varies in several key aspects, including a wide collar with notched lapels and black silk lining. Her coat seems fairly simple until the intricate embroidery on the back is revealed, depicting a sparrow perched on a branch, looking up at a variety of flowers in different colors. We can also see a sprig of purple and yellow blooms on her sleeves, and a growing stretch of embroidered flowers along the lower edges and bottom hem of the coat.Beneath her coat, we see a thin-collared black blouse, possibly the same one from 2x03, and her classic silk faille high-waisted black pants. She finishes the look with black gloves and her onyx teardrop earrings. The final piece of her ensemble is her circular French beret, known affectionately as her ‘breaking and entering’ hat, since it mostly appears with her cat-burgling look. The hat has shown up six times so far, appearing in 1x05, 1x09, 1x10, 2x01, 2x03, and in this episode.Season 2, Episode 4 - “Deadweight”Screencaps from here, hat photo from the official Pinterest. -- source link
