tarjeistyle:The published article and photo in today’s Dagbladet Magasinet. Yes, I got myself an account to read it, it’s not available online (yet?).Headline of the series of interviews: “Shooting stars - Meet five young people who will surely brighten 2018.”Interview:“I don’t have Instagram and Twitter and those things. Some say I should get Instagram to promote myself. But the person who casts me because of my Instagram… That’s not someone I want to work with.”If Tarjei Sandvik Moe were to google himself, he would get hundreds of hits. Half the world is writing about him - and most so about Isak Valtersen, his character in the tv series Skam. Tarjei, however, they don’t know very much about.“I have no need for others to take part of my personal life.”He emphasizes that he doesn’t look down on people who are on social medias.“I just don’t feel like it myself. I don’t think it’s inappropriate as an actor either.”It’s not Skam or Isak that occupy Sandvik Moe. It’s acting, it’s the field. Next year he’ll exercise it both in the on stage musical Grease and in the feature En affære. In the middle of it all, he is also russ and revue boss at the drama course at Hartvig Nissen school in Oslo.“A day has very many hours. The worst part is to be bored. Then I go crazy. I do stuff all the time. If I’m creatively blocked, then I play a bit of FIFA and work on other things.”He writes, he acts, he kneads new characters into his head. Ideas are noted, small manuscripts are being developed and shown to others.“Most who know me would probably say that I’m a nerd when it comes to acting. I like to have focus on just one thing: To convey stories in a way that make an impression on people. If I had tried to become really good at bandy, sky diving and all sorts of things, then that would have taken time that I could have used for rehearsing.”The 18-year-old does not, like many may think, wade in exciting job offers.“I’m probably being cast for more things because of Skam than because of my talent. That can hurt some. I’ve experienced it several times, and withdrawn from two productions because I’ve felt that they’ve taken advantage of me. You come to the set and want to work, but the only thing they want is to take photos and all sorts of PR stuff. I want to work as an actor, not being a face of PR.”In January, Grease premieres at Chateau Neuf. Sandvik Moe plays Doody and has been given lots of space on the posters.“I know that the Grease production uses me to sell tickets, and that I wouldn’t have gotten the part without Skam. It’s a bit weird to think about. I usually don’t think about it. It’s probably just how it works. But I’m very happen to have gotten the part anyway and to be able to work with such professional musical artists”, says Sandvik Moe, who declines jobs that don’t interest him.“Today I got an offer of 15000 kr to do a publicity thing. I’m not very keen on that money”, says Tarjei Sandvik Moe, who requests not to be portrayed as an honest guy. He simply does, as he says, what he feels like. And another thing:“I’m only 18 years old. Maybe I’ll read this in two years and think that what I’ve said is silly and naive, and that I’m only trying to be precocious. That may be. But I only know what I do right now, and can only say just that.”(Translation by me) -- source link
