They have all heard, at least one time in their short lives, the cautionary tale of Unma, told by their mothers and grandmothers. Unma, being barren, resented the fertility of Amla, her younger sister, mother of two beautiful boys, and tested by the god Holoss, could not overcome the jealousy and the fear of being considered a lesser person.One night, while her sister was away, she lured her two nephews to the waters of Aghandur, and there, stabbed them and drowned them in the cristaline waters of the lake’s shore. Almost imediately, the haze put upon her by Holoss was lifted and she became aware of her crime.
