pumpkin-bread:pumpkin-bread:pumpkin-bread:pumpkin-bread:The room reflects the night sky outside. Before you is a frail-looking woman slumped in a throne, surrounded by guards in full armor. Her dress sits somewhat oddly against her bony physique, and her face is sunken in. Her eyes, a faded pink, are framed by dark circles. She doesn’t appear to have eaten or slept in quite some time. When she speaks, there is a surprising strength to her voice.“I am princess Avonne,” she begins simply, raising her head to view you properly in spite of her otherwise exhausted-seeming posture.“But I’d hope you were already aware of that.”It seems to take some effort, but she straightens up to what becomes quite an impressive height. With shoulders square and head held high, she at once has the appearance of nobility. She crosses her arms.“I’m going to speak plainly: times within Amberspire have been less than desirable as of late. And as such, plans have changed dramatically.”She sighs.“Vanstrom is dead. Murdered. His killer later crept into my own quarters that night, and were it not for my guard rushing to my aid, I as well would have had my throat slit in my sleep.”Her fingers drum rhythmically against her arms. For a moment, she holds herself.“I had never once seen or heard of that person before, and yet she came for us.My mother and I fought her off, but not before our clan sustained severe losses. Ones I cannot forget.”Her voice wavers, and when she continues on there is something between fury and hurt in her tone.“I have seen my guardian and closest friend with her entrails scattered across the floor. I’ve seen good people with families and meaningful lives slaughtered for no other reason than they stood in the way.And what I’ve learned from it all is that sentiment has no place here, not for me, not for anyone else who hopes to lead. You are never safe. You cannot trust anyone, and yet you must not be alone, lest you become vulnerable. And all the while you must remember that those who you do let in, who you deem worthy of your trust –“Her voice cracks, but her composure does not.“Those close to you are in danger for it.”She sighs – for a moment it looks more like a snarl than anything else – before continuing.“However, I care deeply about Clan Amberspire, and I respect my mother’s decision to step down.I promised to lead, and was trained to do so. I’m not backing down from it – and so, I’m not backing down from this either. If you wish to strengthen your clan through an alliance with Amberspire, or if you wish to help take my crystalline castle to new heights, you may try for my hand.My hopes for love – or even friendship – are long dead; I have no expectation of finding that here. But what I do expect and need is to trust you. You must prove you are someone I can rely on, someone of honest intentions.Prove that, and I will offer you the same.”Her eyes lock with yours, and then she nods to the door.“That’s all I have to say. You may go.”Marriage apps are now open for Avonne, Princess and Future Queen of Amberspire. Please reblog this post with your potential suitor, and just why they wish to marry her/why you wish to share lore with me in such a way.Applications will close December 1st.Additional rules I forgot to mention:- Please only apply with an existing character, or at least one you are very invested in.- I’m not looking to buy a dragon. This is a shared lore opportunity.- As such, you must be a lore clan.- It would be cool if you did art too but of course, that’s not necessary- You can write as if someone is directly speaking to Avonne, or just be OOC and tell me about your character. Both are fine and valid.Day reblog. The 31st is the last day to get your applications in.If you need an extension please let me know! -- source link
