5.06 Big BrotherThis show knows who it is and has its characters down. It has the ability to effortlessly balance humor and seriousness. This episode is a relatively light one so I was laughing most of the way through.It started with Deeks’ ‘walking workstation’ and how the rest of the team made fun of him for it. Recently coming off of a near-death experience now has Deeks’ looking for ways to extend his lifespan. And his genius plan is to put a treadmill in his work area because sitting is a slow killer. But Kensi just kept chuckling, Sam didn’t care, and Hetty took it away because it was delaying their network. Deeks thought it was Callen ('I am offended that you would ask me first’ lol) I think this is not the last we’ll see of Deeks’ new lifestyle.And then came the whole 'blogger situation’ Callen tried to keep to himself. He’s working with a tech operator who wears shorts and sandals to work, how did he think that would slip past him? XD Elise, the blogger, apparently thought Callen is a 'mysterious stranger.’ She rescued an animal she was afraid of to impress him! She also thought he was 'big and strong with striking blue eyes’ :))))) (She’s right about the eyes though)And then when they tracked down the hacker who might have blown a joint agency task force operation, it turned out to be a teenage schoolgirl. Who kicked Deeks in the groin because she thought he was a pervert. (I’m pretty sure I’m missing something. I’m gonna go look for it’)Turns out Cindy hacked the local mean girls’ phones and accidentally exposed some super secret information. So now someone has to go to their high school and keep an eye on the students and make sure they’re not kidnapped or something. So it’s Kensi’s turn to make me laugh. She was supposed to go in as a substitute teacher but then bailed as she’s walking to the school entrance. She looked genuinely afraid didn’t she? XD 'It was bad. I am not kidding’So now Callen has to swoop in because the school is expecting a substitute teacher. He rolled down his sleeves, tucked his shirt and everything. Of course the students mocked his fake first name 'Valerie’ (looool) but it didn’t stop some of the girls to swoon over his striking blue eyes. Party’s over soon enough though 'cause a teacher just hanged himself in the teacher’s lounge. Blackmail.Eric, the smart one, soon figured out that one of Cindy’s online friends, Matt, wasn’t who he said he was. Cindy willingly played bait and after Deeks chased Matt up a staircase to nowhere and jumped back down, Sam arrested the punk. Crisis averted. Also, looked like someone has a crush on Eric. XDFor a procedural, this show can be hella funny. It helps that the writers and actors understand the characters and know what to do with them. Except maybe Granger. Where the hell is he? Is he okay? Is he still in the hospital? No mention of him at all this episode! Why up him to regular status when he’s not showing up regularly? :)) I think he’d make a good addition to the team. They added Deeks and Nell quite smoothly, I have no doubt they’d be able to do the same for Granger. So get him back already! -- source link
